The Italian bass Dario Russo is specialized in Belcanto repertoire; during his carrier, he has performed in majors opera houses in Italy and in Europe in works as Nabucco (Zaccaria), Attila in the title role, Luisa Miller ( Conte di Walter), Anna Bolena (Henry VIII), La Boheme ( Colline), Turandot ( Timur), Macbeth ( Banco), Aida ( Ramfis), Lucia di Lammermoor (Raimondo), I Puritani (Sir Giorgio), La Sonnambula (Conte Rodolfo), Norma (Oroveso), Capulet (Romeo et Juliette), La forza del destino ( Padre guardiano), Demetrio e Polibio (Polibio).

Holding a degree in Russian and German Languages and Literatures, Dario Russo masters a repertoire in foreign languages, among which he has excelled in both French and German repertoires.

Dario Russo has sung under the guidance of renowned conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Donato Renzetti, Nello Santi, Sebastian Weigle, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, Charles Dutoit and Daniele Callegari. Moreover he has worked with stage-directors like Laurent Pelly, Robert Carsen, Klaus Guth, Pierluigi Pizzi and Emilio Sagi.

Besides the operatic activity, Dario Russo leads a prolific concert career, performing works like Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Verdi’s Requiem, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Rossini’s Messe solennelle and Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem, Schubert’s Winterreise and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor Op. 125.
